God's Plan of Salvation

The Gospel of Jesus Christ

†The Bible says that all have sinned.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

-Romans 3:23

†The wages of sin is death.

"For the wages of sin is death;......"

-Romans 6:23

†Outside of God there is no righteousness.

"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:"

-Romans 3:10

†Man is condemned without Jesus Christ.

"He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already,
because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

-John 3:18

†The Bible says that Jesus Christ is the only way.

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

-John 14:6

†Without Christ’s propitiation (payment) for sin there is no reconciliation with God the Father.

"Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren,
that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God,
to make reconciliation for the sins of the people."

-Hebrews 2:17

†Jesus Christ is the mediator between the lost and God the Father.

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;"

-1 Timothy 2:5

†The Bible says man is inherently sinful.

"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin;
and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:"

-Romans 5:12

†The Bible says that we are to repent of our sin nature and call upon the Lord.

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness;
but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish,
but that all should come to repentance."

-2 Peter 3:9

†If we say we have no sin the truth is not in us.

"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."

1 John 1:10

"If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."

-1 John 1:8

†It is only after we receive Christ that He becomes our advocate.

"My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin,
we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
Then we can confess our daily sins and God promises to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

-1 John 2:1

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

-1 John 1:9

†If we ask Jesus Christ to come into our life and be our Saviour and confess Him as Lord we shall be saved.

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that
God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man
believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same
Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

-Romans 10:9-13

†By placing our faith in Jesus Christ we receive eternal life.

"..... but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

-Romans 6:23

†At the moment of salvation we are sealed by the Holy Spirit forever.

"In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation:
in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the
purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory."

-Ephesians 1:13-14

"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good
work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:"

-Philippians 1:6

†Nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus, not even us.

"Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again,
who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution,
or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are
killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these
things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded,
that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present,
nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to
separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

-Romans 8:34-39

†Once we have ask Jesus into our heart we have committed our soul to Him forever.

"For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed:
for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he (Jesus Christ) is able to
keep that (your soul) which I have committed unto him against that day (the second coming)."

-2 Timothy 1:12

†We can't loose our salvation.

"Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless
before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour,
be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen."

-Jude 1:24-25

†Those who reject Jesus Christ in this life will be without God's love (John 3:16; Romans 5:8) when they stand before Him on judgment day.

"For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let,
until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the
Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of
his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all
power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness
in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might
be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should
believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not
the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness."

-2 Thessalonians 2:7-12

†Receive the love of God today.

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

-Romans 5:8

†Don't put it off. You are not promised tomorrow.

"As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more."

-Psalms 103:15-16

†Recognize your sinful condition.

"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God."

-Romans 3:10

†See yourself through the eyes of a holy and just God.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

-Romans 3:23

†Look at what God calls sin and be honest with yourself.

"All unrighteousness is sin: ....."

-1 John 5:17

†Admit to Him you are a sinner in need of redemption. Repent (turn from sin toward God) of your sin.

"I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

-Luke 13:5

†At the moment of salvation you become a new creature.

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

-2 Corinthians 5:17

†It is after you receive the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ that the Holy Spirit works on the outward man. So you don't get cleaned up then come to the Lord. You come to Him as you are and the Holy Spirit does the cleaning.

"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."

-John 14:26

"Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you."

-John 16:13

†You will never get yourself good enough for God.

"But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."

-Isaiah 64:6

†This idea of doing right makes you right is not biblical. We will never make ourselves good enough on the outside to be good enough on the inside to be acceptable to God.

"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity."

-Matthew 23:27-28

†Ask Jesus Christ to come into your life, be your Saviour and confess Him as Lord.

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

-Romans 10:9

†Believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried and rose again according to the scriptures.

"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"

1 Corinthians 15:1-4

†Believe that Christ's death, burial and resurrection was an acceptable payment for sin to God the Father and one you could never pay on your own.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast."

-Ephesians 2:8

†Believe in your heart that by accepting Jesus Christ's payment for sin He has done all that is necessary for you to receive eternal life.

"When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."

-John 19:30

†There is no salvation through any other name.

"But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name."

-John 20:31

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

-Acts 4:12

†Now that you are saved, start serving God by telling others about what Jesus has done for you.

"And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him. Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel."

-Mark 5:18-20

†Witness to the lost and dying world and give them the gospel so the Lord can use you to draw others to Himself.

"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."

-Mark 16:15

†We are commanded to be ready to give an answer to every man that ask.

"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:"

-1 Peter 3:15

†Our risen Saviour, Jesus Christ, is the hope.

"Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;"

-1 Timothy 1:1

"Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;"

-Titus 2:13

†Only by accepting Jesus Christ as one's Saviour and confessing Him as Lord can one be a partaker of His resurrection.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,"

-1 Peter 1:3

†Unlike any other religious leader Jesus Christ rose from the dead and lives for evermore.

"I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. "

-Revelation 1:18

†Just as Jesus was resurrected from the dead so will all those who believe in Him.

"Beloved, noware we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is."

-1 John 3:2

†One of the first things you should do after you get saved is get scripturally baptized. This is water baptism by submersion. The disciples were commanded to:

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

-Matthew 28:19-20

†Water baptism is not only in obedience to the Lord but shows your relationship with the universal Church (body of Christ). Water baptism does not save you but shows other believers that you are in agreement or like minded with them. You get water baptized after you are spiritually baptized. It is a picture of being buried in the likeness of Christ death (going down under the water) and being raised in the likeness of His resurrection (raising up out of the water).

"The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:"

-1 Peter 3:21

†Start serving God and not sin.

"Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

-Romans 6:11

†Live your new Christian life according to the Word of God so others may see the light in your life.

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

-Matthew 5:16

†Faith is required to get saved and to grow.

"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

-Hebrews 11:6

†Once you are saved Christ is your eternal advocate.

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;"

-1 Timothy 2:5

†You may ask Him for wisdom.

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."

-James 1:5

†God has given us all things necessary to live as He would have us to.

"According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust."

-2 Peter 1:3-4

†You have a choice now. If you don't choose Christ in your life now you will hear these words when you stand before Him on your judgment day later;

"And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

-Matthew 7:23

and receive your place in eternity.

"And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal."

-Matthew 25:46

"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

-Revelation 20:15

†We will all bow before the Lord someday;

"That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

-Philippians 2:10-11

†Keep in mind no one escapes God's judgment.

"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil."

-Ecclesiastes 12:13-14

"For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?"

-Hebrews 2:2-4
